If you are going to buy the butterfly kit then this is a must. I bought this for my son's pre-school class along with the butterfly kit. The kids loved it and the teacher was thankful for the book that explained the process in a way the kids would understand.
That is not my idea of gently used. The book was more used than I thought it would be.
The book really prepared us well for what to expect and also reinforced the changes we we observing. This book goes perfectly with the Live Butterfly Pavilion because the caterpillars you receive in the kit are painted ladies. My 5 year old loved the book and the kit.
It is just delightful and educational as well, and the kids just loved it. I bought a few copies of this book to give out at a birthday party to the children who came. However, I read it first.
Great illustrations and concise. She did get the gist of it. We bought this book to accompany the Butterfly Pavilion from amazon.com. This book was a little above her level of understanding, she is only 2 after all.
